Rihanna Donates 5 Million Dollars To Coranavirus Relief Fund

The money will be going straight to the frontline to aid those working against the virus.

Rihanna, it has been announced, has donated a whopping five million dollars in order to help those tackling the Covid-19 pandemic.

The money will be going straight to the frontline to aid those working against the virus and it comes from the non-profit she already had, the Clara Lionel Foundation.

This charity, which she founded in 2012, ” supports and funds groundbreaking emergency preparedness and education work around the world” and is named after her grandparents.

The Clara Lionel Foundation has donated the funds to numerous different organisations worldwide, to “help prepare communities w/ critical protective gear, medical supplies, equipment and access to food.”

Apparently the star has also pledged money towards supporting testing and care facilities in the Haiti and Malawi.

The charity’s director, Justine Lucas spoke to TMZ about the donation stating;
“Never has it been more important or urgent to protect and prepare marginalized and underserved communities – those who will be hit hardest by this pandemic.”
