Rupert Grint And Georgia Groome Have Welcomed Their First Baby Into The World

The couple announced they were expecting just weeks ago

While we’ve been trying to get our heads around the fact that two of our favourite childhood stars are dating one another (yes, it’s been years since we found out, but it’s still a small shock to the system every time we re-hear it), they only go and drop the bombshell that they’re having a baby together.

Well, as it turns out Rupert and Georgia have just become the proud parents of a baby girl, the two confirmed in a statement.

The statement sharing the happy news read:

“Rupert Grint and Georgia Groome are delighted to confirm the birth of their baby girl. We would please ask that you respect their privacy at this very special time.”

Two pair, who are most known for their roles in Harry Potter and Angus Thongs And Perfect Snogging have been dating for the best part of a decade. But, since meeting back in 2011 they have managed to keep their relationship out of the public eye, with them only announcing that they are having a baby four weeks ago.

Rupert did recently speak about his private life and hopes for the future back in 2018 with The Guardian, revealing that he did hope to start a family in the near future.

“Turning 30 felt strange. It just doesn’t feel like I’m there yet and I don’t know what the future holds,” he said.

“I’m just going to go with the flow, keep playing interesting characters, and see what happens. I’d like to settle down and have kids soon.”

Continuing to joke, Rupert said that he, unfortunately, has no plans of giving his children any Harry Potter names.

“If I had a son, would I call him Ron? It’s quite a good name, but probably not. And Grint’s a tough name to pair a one-syllable first name with,”

So does that mean we can rule out Hermione for their little one?

Congratulations to the new parents, our childhood selves are delighted for them!
