Sarah Jessica Parker Reveals What’s Next For Carrie And Aidan

No matter whose team you’re on – Team Aidan or Team Big or even Team Carrie – you can’t deny that Aidan hasn’t had the best track record when it comes to romancing Carrie and it’s not for lack of trying.

It only took a total of seven episodes before we got to see Aidan back on our screens when he’s seen at the start of episode seven answering Carrie’s email that comes 13 years after they last spoke. He reveals he’s coming into town and asks Carrie to go for dinner with him.

After much miscommunication on the latter’s end, the two finally meet in the middle of the street and we can feel the chemistry sizzle. After a long overdue catch-up over dinner, where they discuss the last decade and everything that happened including Big’s death.

Following the dinner they head back to Carrie’s apartment where Aidan for his own sanity says he can’t go inside saying: “No matter how much I want to, I can’t go in there with all that. I’m never going in there again.”

Carrie then replies saying: “I guess time doesn’t heal everything, no matter how much you want it to.”

As Aidan prepares to walk away, he has a little epiphany and shouts: “F*ck it! This is New York! They have hotels, right?” He then walks over to Carrie and proceeds to kiss her, and “just like that…Aidan and I were back on the same page,” Carrie declares in a voiceover.

Chatting to Glamour Sarah Jessica Parker revealed what’s coming next for the beloved on-screen couple.

She said: “They’re different people, so the things that got in their way in the past might be looked at differently. It doesn’t mean that there’s more promise for them now than there was then.”

Adding: “It just means that they’re more mature, and they’re more interested in being thoughtful about one another. But there is an undeniable passion about who they are when they’re together. It’s really fun to explore, and it’s a very pleasant place to be, I think, for Carrie.”

And when asked whether Aidan will stick around, her answer was resounding yes!

The 58-year-old said: “Yes, he’s not somebody who you can be casual with. He deserves more—the character and the actor. He’s played too big a role in Carrie’s life for it to be a kind of fun nibble at a buffet.”

Team Aidan gals unite!
