Sarah Jessica Parker Said Being On Sex And The City ‘Felt Very Suffocating’

Can we all just leave SATC alone?

There’s been a lot of drama surrounding Sex and the City since the show wrapped up filming two decades ago, but the shade has come mostly from Kim Cattrall who played Samantha Jones on the iconic TV show.

Now, however, our beloved Sarah Jessica Parker has recalled times where she didn’t feel on top form while filming.

On the latest episode of the Origins: Sex and the City podcast, SJP remembered that she “panicked” when offered the role because it would mean committing to the strict schedule of making a TV show.

“All of a sudden it felt like somebody was holding me hostage or something or there just were these limitations which felt very suffocating,” she said. She admitted that she did adjust however, ultimately becoming one of the producers on the show and following films.

Fans have been rooting for a third SATC movie since the second one came out, however Kim Cattrall isn’t budging on not wanting to be involved. SJP hasn’t ruled out the possibility, however.

“Whether we choose to revisit it at another time and reimagine that story – that’s something [director] Michael [Patrick King] and I just haven’t talked about yet, that doesn’t mean we won’t, but we haven’t at this time,” she explained.

We really hope they don’t pull a Spice Girls and do it without Kim.
