Sarah Jessica Parker Was Noticeably Absent From The Met Gala For The First Time In 7 Years

Fans had waited with baited breath to see what the actress would wear, but she never arrived.

Anyone who’s anyone in Celeb Land is invited to attend the Met Gala in New York City, and it’s been annually attended by Sarah Jessica Parker – until now.

Also known as ‘the biggest night in fashion’, it seemed strange that the glamorous Sex And The City actress was MIA.

Monday’s gala, which had the theme of ‘Rei Kawakubo / Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between’, would have been SJ’s tenth appearance, but sources say she purposely missed it to focus on her work.

The 52-year-old is working on the second season of her HBO show Divorce, so decided to give the gala a miss. We were devo, as she can always be relied on to follow the theme to a T.

Last year, she responded to an Instagram comment which accused her of diverging from the theme of ‘Manus X Machina’, saying, “I’m a stickler for the theme and pay close attention to what it means. Every year with great consideration, research and conviction.”

We’ll just have to wait for next year, we suppose.
