Well, this sounds slightly scarier than Ghostface.

The latest addition to the Scream franchise has people flocking to the cinema to check it out, and while you’d imagine starring in an iconic slasher film would be up there with the scarier moments in a career, it turns out Neve Campbell (who plays Sidney Prescott in the films) has had a much scarier experience.

In an interview on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Neve spoke about her career and revealed that while shooting a film during her teenage years, she came too close for comfort with a bear while on set.

“I was playing this role where she’s ‘one with the animals’ and there was a scene where I was getting chased by a bear,” the actress began.

“They brought this bear on set and they first gave me this big bottle of Coke to feed it. [After feeding it], they said, ‘Dip your hand in honey and just run.'” Neve, who was 17 at the time, said she followed the instructions, but things didn’t exactly go according to plan.

“The bear is not slowing down and he’s not coming for my hand,” she continued. “He grabs me by the leg and he pulls me through the forest. My mother was visiting set and she’s screaming. The whole crew is frozen because nobody can believe what’s happening. All I can think to say is, ‘He’s biting me,’ like it’s not obvious.”

Explaining what happened next, Neve shared that the person who was on set to handle the bear gave her an opportunity to run by by “throwing rocks” at the bear.

“It’s silly,” she added, before adding that she didn’t receive any injuries during the incident. “We get asked to do silly things.” Before Kelly herself added “Actors are so different from musicians. I would be like, ‘Bye!'”
