It looks like things have come to a close in a long alleged feud between Selena Gomez and friend Francia Raísa.

The pair first met in 2007 on a Disney trip to a children’s hospital, and immediately hit it off. In 2017, Selena revealed in an Instagram post that Francia donated her kidney to Selena, after the singer was diagnosed with the autoimmune disease Lupus.

At the time Selena gushed with gratitude for her donor, writing; “there aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa.

“She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much sis.”

Following the surgery, Francia also spoke positively of her donation, sharing in an Instagram post (which has since been deleted), “I am beyond grateful that God would trust me with something that not only saved a life, but changed mine in the process.”

In 2018, fans began to question if Francia may have felt a pressure to donate her kidney, when she told Self how the decision was made.

“One day I got a phone call from Selena, a FaceTime, and she’s like: ‘You’re a match!'”

She said she felt “angry” at the time that Selena had been told before she was.

“I had a way that I wanted to tell her when I made the decision,” she explained. “I knew it was going to happen, I just needed that time.”

Though fans were speculating over Francia’s comments, all seemed well between the two until 2022, when Selena release her intimate documentary, My Mind and Me. The film followed Selena’s life from 2016 t0 2020, but Francia didn’t feature at all, raising eyebrows among fans.

Then Selena made a comment to Rolling Stone where she spoke about her friendships. She said, “I never fit in with a cool group of girls that were celebrities. My only friend in the industry really is Taylor [Swift].” When Raisa saw a snippet of the article on an E! News Instagram post, she commented “interesting”, and promptly unfollowed Selena. Yikes!

People began to pick sides in the alleged riff between the pair, with some feeling that Selena wasn’t grateful to Francia, and others suggesting that Francia was overreacting.

When a TikTok user made a video about the interaction, Selena commented “Sorry I didn’t mention every person I know”. Awkward!

Earlier this year, Selena appeared to offer an olive branch in an episode of Apple TV documentary ‘Dear…’.

The pop star said, “My best friend. Her name is Francia..I will never ever, ever be more in debt to a person than Francia. The idea of someone not even second-guessing to be a donor was unbelievably overwhelming.”

Then in July, Selena shared a sweet birthday tribute to Francia on Instagram. “I love you”, she wrote.

The next day, Francia liked the post, and followed Selena. According to InStyle, when approached for comment by TMZ, Francia said “There’s no beef, guys.

“I got so many great birthday messages. I really, really appreciate everyone. Yeah, you know, it’s a new year.”

Well, it looks like the beef is squashed. Phew!
