Selena Gomez Will Play Linda Ronstadt In Upcoming Biopic

Selena Gomez is set to play music icon Linda Ronstadt in a biopic!

The famous singer was queen of the 70’s, with albums like Heart Like A Wheel and Simple Dream.

She was a rare female stand out in a sea of male rockstars at the time, and had six albums go platinum.

A country, rock’n’roll and latin music legend, Linda is of Mexican descent – just like Selena Gomez.

We can also definitely see some physical resemblance between the two musicians, so we can tell why they chose Selena to do Linda’s story justice.

Right now, we don’t know a huge amount about the project, except that it’s in pre production.

Linda’s manager, John Boylan, is one of the producers, and so is James Keach, who produced a documentary on Linda in 2019, called “Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice.”

It’s an exciting job for Selena to take on, considering the actress hasn’t had a leading role in a while.

That doesn’t mean she hasn’t been smashing it in the industry though; the pop star has been nominated for two Golden Globes for her work on TV show Only Murders In The Building.

On John Boylan’s website, it says that Selena and Linda have been working together to perfect the vision.

Allegedly Selena “recently spent a few hours at Linda’s home discussing the project and getting to know each other.”

Linda is 77, and retired in 2011 due to progressive supranuclear palsy.

We can’t wait to see what this promising film will turn out like.
