Shakira Explains Viral Ambulance Photos Following Her Split From Gerard Piqué

Shakira confessed the ambulance wasn't for her, but for a family member

Shakira is putting fans’ minds at ease after photos of her in an ambulance went viral.

The singer reassured fans that she was fine, and confessed the photos were actually a week old. The ambulance was for her father, William, who injured himself after a fall.

Taking to Twitter, she revealed; “Guys, I’m getting a lot of concern that I was seen in an ambulance in Barcelona recently”

“I just wanted to let you know that those photos are from last weekend (the 28th), when my dad unfortunately had a bad fall and I accompanied him in an ambulance to the hospital where he is recovering now.”

Shakira then shared a snap of her and William together, thanking fans for their support.

Writing; “Please do send all your best wishes his way, and thank you all as always for all of your love & support.”

Here’s wishing William an quick and easy recovery.

Her response to the viral photos comes just a day after she announced her separation from, footballer Gerard Piqué.

The couple met in 2010 while filming the music video for Shakira’s World Cup song Waka Waka. They share two sons together, Milan and Sasha.

In a statement, the singer confirmed; “We regret to confirm that we are separating. For the well-being of our children, who are our highest priority, we request respect for our privacy. Thank you for your understanding.”

Shakira had hinted at the end of their relationship in her latest song Te Felicito with Rauw Alejandro.

With the lyrics being, “To complete you I broke into pieces; I was warned, but I didn’t listen; I realised that yours is false.

“It was the drop that overflowed the glass; Don’t tell me you’re sorry, that sounds sincere, but I know you well and I know you’re lying.”
