Sir David Attenborough Has Just Joined Instagram And We’re Delighted
His first post was done in true Attenbae style
Sir David Attenborough has only gone a proved that he truly is down with the young un’s and has joined Instagram today.
His reasoning for joining, is not so much as a jolly one, as his first post is a video of him explaining why he set up an account on the social media app.
“The world is in trouble, continents are on fire, glaciers are melting, coral reefs are dying, fish are disappearing from the oceans,” he said in his IGTV video.
Continuing on, he said: “Over the next few weeks I’ll be recording messages to explain what the problems are and how we can deal with them.”
David, or rather David’s team (he is 94 after all), who are film crew members Jonnie and Colin, went on to say in the caption of the video that Instagram seems the best place to be for now to spread his message far and wide, all in the hopes of inspiring change to make the planet a better place.

Attenborough fans can also look forward to seeing some brand new Attenbae content on their screens soon also, as his new documentary, David Attenborough A Life On Our Planet will be landing on Netflix on the 4th of October.
But, if you were expecting flat lays and OOTD’s from David, you’ll be gravely disappointed, as David and co have said that along with advice on what we can do to help the planet and minimise out carbon footprint, he’ll also be sharing some BTS and sneak peek clips from his new documentary – so less morning coffee’s and more footage of ice caps melting.
As expected, David is proving to be a huuuge hit on the ol’ gram, and has already racked a million subscribers at the time of writing this, a number we’re sure will continue to grow in the coming days and hours.
Thanks for making both the planet AND social media a better place Sir David, we are not worthy!
