So Liam Payne Still “Occasionally” Texts Ex-Girlfriend Sophia Smith After Having Baby With Cheryl

Liam Payne dated Sophia Smith for two years while touring the world with One Direction, but the pair split in October 2015 because they weren’t quite ready to settle down for good.

They’re still on good terms though, as the fashion graduate revealed to The Sun that she and Liam still text occasionally, most recently about the birth of his baby boy with X Factor judge Cheryl.

Speaking at Coachella’s Revolve party, she said, “I messaged to congratulate him. We’re all good. I’m happy for him.”

It’s great to see that they’re in a happy place now. Sophia had previously spoken out about how bizarre she found it that her ex was dating a woman so much older than him. Last year, she told Now magazine “It’s SO weird. I knew about them a little bit ago, but who thought it would actually come out?”

It seems they’ll all moved on now, and are in a place where they can be supportive of one another. V cute.
