According to Gwyneth Paltrow’s most recent Goop newsletter our lady gardens should be getting well acquainted with both olive oil and vitamin E.

Why so? Well, according to Gwyneth’s Q & A with naturopathic doctor Maggie Ney, olive oil makes an ace lubricant, meaning it’s great news for your sex life, while vitamin E helps to moisturise and strength your vaginal tissue – read: also great news for your sex life.

But the benefits don’t end there. Experts agree that regularly applying a little olive oil around your lady bits can help to protect the skin and also decrease irritation while you’re on your period.

Right, so now that you’re on board with using olive oil as a vaginal moisturiser, what’s the best way to do it?

It’s easy: just insert two fingers into your vagina and massage the oil around the area.
