Taylor Swift And Joe Alwyn Reportedly Split After Six Years

After nearly six years together, Taylor Swift has reportedly split from her long-term boyfriend Joe Alwyn.

The pair were first linked in 2016, but it seems they ended their relationship a few weeks ago, keeping it quiet until now. Both Entertainment Tonight and People Magazine have confirmed the breakup. With ET reporting “it was not dramatic” as the pair kept things amicable.

Taylor and Joe hadn’t been spotted together in quite a while, with the actor not attending any of the concerts for  Taylor’s sensational Eras Tour. Plenty of her pals including Selena Gomez, Emma Stone, and Hayley Williams headed to some of her shows, so Joe’s absence was noted by fans. And it seems their breakup is why.

“The relationship had just run its course. It’s why [Alwyn] hasn’t been spotted at any shows,” the publication learned.

Neither Taylor or Joe have commented on the breakup yet.

Their split has come as a surprise as just a few weeks ago, People reported how well their romance was doing, and how Joe planned to visit the singer as she toured.

“Joe will travel with her when he can. They are great together. Joe is super supportive of her career,” the source explained.

While before that, there was rumours of an engagement.

With Joe coyly addresses the speculation, telling The Wall Street Journal: “If I had a pound for every time I think I’ve been told I’ve been engaged, then I’d have a lot of pound coins. I mean, the truth is, if the answer was yes, I wouldn’t say, and if the answer was no, I wouldn’t say.”

While they kept their romance out of the public eye, Joe was the inspiration (and sometimes even co-writer) for many of Taylor’s tracks.

The couple began dating in 2016, after meeting at the Met Gala that same year.

Their courtship even included a trip to Ireland. As Taylor came over here to visit Joe on the set of Conversations With Friends while he was filming this side of the Atlantic.

With the couple being spotted in a local Belfast pub at the after party, enjoying the beach of Donegal, and heading to Wicklow, which the pair enjoyed so much Taylor actually mentioned the county by name in her latest album, Midnights.
