Here’s Why Everyone Thinks Taylor Swift’s New Song With Zayn Malik Is About Calvin Harris
It's been a long wait for new music from her.
It’s been over two years, but Taylor Swift has finally dropped new music, and she’s gone all out with her new release.
The singer collaborated with former One Directioner – and the boyfriend of her bestie Gigi Hadid – Zayn Malik on a new song for the upcoming Fifty Shades Darker, the sequel to Fifty Shades Of Grey.
I Don’t Wanna Live Forever is currently only available to purchase and stream via Tay’s fave Apple Music, but there is a short snippet of it online on some versions of the Fifty Shades Darker trailers.
Perez Hilton posted this 30-second teaser last night, and the song has all the elements of a Taylor hit, including the “Millennial whoop” that she’s so fond of.

This is Taylor’s first official new release, though she has worked with other artists in various forms in the last year or two, including a song she wrote for Little Big Town and a VERY contentious songwriting credit with her ex Calvin Harris.
Taylor wrote his song This Is What You Came For under a pseudonym, and even sang some of the chorus with Rihanna, but her reps then claimed the song was the fuel for the couple’s break-up – something which Calvin later strongly denied.
The lyrics of I Don’t Wanna Live Forever are definitely a nod to a relationship that ended messily, with lyrics like, “Wondering if i dodged a bullet or just lost the love of my life… I feel crazy.” Could it be a nod to how things ended up with Calvin?
Whatever the truth is, here’s hoping this new track lands with less controversy.
