10 Interesting Facts About The Leading Stars Of Netflix’s Ginny And Georgia

It’s been trending on Netflix for the past few weeks and for good reason. Landing on the streaming service in late February, Ginny & Georgia was the “I’m in between series and I don’t know where to go” series a lot of people were on the search for, but didn’t realise just how much they’d love it so much until they got stuck into a few episodes (us included!)

Now, as we hope and pray for confirmation on season two, we’re taking a deep dive into everything we should know about the show’s two leading ladies, yep, that’s Ginny (Antonia Gentry) and Georgia (Brianne Howey).

Antonia (Ginny) is 23 years old IRL

Gentry is 24 years old. She was born in 1997 and her birthday is September 30. She’s still very young so, we know she’s certainly one to watch moving forward!

Antonia is in a long term relationship

Antonia Gentry is currently in a longterm relationship with Ezra Pounds. The couple became boyfriend and girlfriend in high school and have been dating ever since.

Antonia is from Atlanta

Yep, she’s not actually from L.A., she moved there to pursue her dreams of becoming an actress, and it definitely worked.

Antonia got the role of Ginny right before graduation

Just as she was about to graduate from college, she landed the role of a lifetime in Ginny and Georgia. Perfect timing!

Antonia feels proud to see her character Ginny take the lead!

On a personal level, the character of Ginny is something she can relate to. “When I was growing up, I never saw a biracial lead,” she shared in an interview with W magazine. “I didn’t see interracial couples or narratives often displayed in television or movies, and that was something I didn’t realise I wish I had until later on.”

Brianne (Georgia) is 31 years old IRL

Howey was born on May 24, 1989. She is also quite young, and doesn’t have as big an age gap from Antonia as in they do in the show. An exciting future ahead!

Brianne also admitted to resonating with her character

There is a lot that Brianne can relate to in real life. “I grew up with a super-young, single mom. This couldn’t have hit any more close to home,” she explains to Dujour.

Brianne comes from a big family

Brianne is more of a responsible role model in real life. She came from a big family and loves to look after her younger siblings. She is the oldest of five siblings.

“Both my parents remarried and had more, so three of them are much younger,” she told Complex. “It was cool to play a kind of different role in their life, being a little bit older than them. I’d be running them to their practices and helping them with their homework and just kind of watching them grow up.”

Brianne has a minor in child psychology

Aside from majoring in drama, Brianne also minored in Child Psychology at New York University.

Brianne has been a staunch supporter of different movements that support justice and equality. She has extended her support for the fight against racism and has also advocated for LGBTQ and women’s rights. A true role model!
