All The Films RTÉ Is Showing This Christmas

It's almost time to flake

RTÉ shared all the telly joy that they have in store for us this festive season. The Toy Show will air this Friday and we’ll be sitting in with our first box of Celebrations and a glass of bubbly!

However, it wouldn’t be Christmas without a slew of brilliant films.

Thankfully, RTÉ is on hand to keep us entertained this December!

Irish acting royalty Brendan Gleeson, Colin Farrell and Barry Keoghan star in the Irish television premiere of The Banshees of Inisherin. How exciting!

Cillian Murphy gives his Oscar-winning performance as he embodies the famous theoretical physicist in Oppenheimer.

We’ll also have the other half of Barbenheimer as we’ll get to watch Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling in Barbie!

Move aside Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, as we’ll be watching the new version of the tale in Wonka. (But don’t worry the original film is also on telly for your viewing pleasure!)

A modern classic in Belfast will also air over the festive period, while more classics like Raiders of the Lost Dark, It’s a Wonderful Life and Home Alone will be available to watch.

Christmas classics The Holiday and Love Actually will also be on our tellies this December.

Fast X roars back with high-octane action, family bonds, and gravity-defying stunts as Vin Diesel leads the crew in their biggest, boldest mission yet.

Pierce Brosnan stars as a World War II veteran escaping his care home to honour a fallen friend in The Last Rifleman. The Miracle Club stars a powerhouse cast with Maggie Smith, Laura Linney and Kathy Bates leading the charge! When a group of Irish women go in search of miracles, they find plenty of mischief, heart, and a whole lot of laughs.

Back to Black takes viewers inside the turbulent, tragic, and unforgettable life of Amy Winehouse.  With Marisa Abela delivering a stunning performance, this biopic captures the raw talent and chaos of a legend.

Apocalypse Clown brings chaos, laughter and a dash of end-of-the-world madness as a motley crew of down-on-their-luck clowns stumble through the apocalypse. Packed with slapstick, satire and big Irish energy, it’s a comedy that’s anything but a joke.

The family movie selection is also merry and bright this year. Films like Despicable Me 3, Minions, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Boss Baby: The Family Business, Cinderella and Sing 2 will all be on the telly this year.
