The leading light of Bridgerton season two, Simone Ashley is going from strength to strength, leaving her role in Sex Education (which she won’t be reprising for season four, sigh), for the main role of Netflix’s most-watched series ever, Bridgerton.
The second season of the hit period drama sparked discussions about sex and where exactly all the down and dirty scenes that we got in season one were this time round. Fans missed everything from Rege Jean-Page’s spoon licking to *that* Wildest Dreams scene, and felt sad that we didn’t see more of it with Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley who play Anthony and Kate.
But all is not lost, plenty of saucy scenes are set for season three, which has been noted to be super “racy” by Nicola Coughlan, we’ll hold her to that. You can read more about that here.
And thankfully, Simone Ashley has also confirmed that she will be back to star as Kate in season three, after a pretty gruelling introduction to the role in season two, featuring some corset wars.

Whatever is a corset war you might ask? Well, when getting into character, Simone came head-to-head with the gruelling process of putting on a corset, explaining that the first time she ever did it, she got sick.
“I had this massive portion of salmon and that’s when I needed to be sick, basically because I was wearing the corset.
“I realised when you wear the corset, you just don’t eat. It changes your body. I had a smaller waist momentarily,” Simone told The Sun.
Continuing to note that corset wearing caused her a “lot of pain”, it even went so far that Simone “tore her shoulder” from the garment while on set; wild.

Explaining that she bagged the role very shortly after applying for it via her casting agent, Simone added:
“It was all a whirlwind; it happened in two weeks.”
