Melissa Joan Hart Celebrates 25 Years Of Sabrina The Teenage Witch

It might not be a Thursday, but she's still posting throwbacks.

Remember running in from school, using the intricate fight skills you learned at the school’s sports day demonstration to win the remote, and quickly flicking round to RTÉ2 for Sabrina the Teenage Witch, hoping to make it in time to see which dress Sabrina would end up in during the mirror montage of the opening credits. Ah, now those were the days.

Well, we hate to tell you this, but those days… yeah, they were 25 years ago.

We know, we know, but before you run off to put on an extra layer of eye cream, why not take a minute to celebrate with Sabrina herself? Melissa Joan Hart, who played the icon that was Sabrina Spellman, took to Instagram to celebrate the show’s anniversary.

Posting a carousel of pictures from throughout the show’s run, Melissa captioned the post:

“It’s been brought to my attention that 25 years ago today Sept 27, 1996 our show first aired on ABC for 7 seasons.”

She also explained that the show faced challenges and was overshadowed, “The little engine that could we called it since it was in the shadows of the largely anticipated show #Clueless but it persevered and we got to steal @reddonovan to come over to our fun cast.” @redddonovan is Elisa Donovan, who played Morgan in later seasons of the show.

Melissa then went on to praise the guest stars and others by saying:

“Tons of talented guest stars, musical acts and magic tv tricks over the years. Full of friendships and crazy memories, it was an incredible ride to be sure! Thanks for the love and support to help us do what we love to do, make people smile!! Happy #SabrinatheTeenageWitch Day! 🍍”

While it’s a little heartbreaking that the show is over, at least we still have Salem the cat memes. Now, if we can just get The Sleepover Club girls back together, all our dreams will have come true.
