Paul Mescal is making a return to the small screen tonight after stealing our hearts and soaring to fame for his role as Connell Waldron earlier this year in Normal People.

The TV adaptation based on the book by Sally Rooney, broke some impressive records for BBC Three and even secured a couple Emmy nominations for Paul, Sally and Director Lenny Abrahamson.

But Paul didn’t spend any time after shooting Normal People relaxing in the fame, instead he was booked and busy, shooting another series, The Deceived, which finally begins tonight on Virgin Media One.

The show, which was created by Derry Girls Lisa McGee and her husband, Tobias Beer, looks set to be an addictive watch, as the series has been described as a thriller, filled with lust, murder and manipulation.

Plus, the latest trailer floating about features Paul’s character, Sean McKeough speaking as Gaeilge. Yep, we know.

Things we know so far is that we’re set to see an intense romantic relationship form between Paul’s character Sean and Emily Reid’s character Ophelia, as the pair strike up a relationship they know they shouldn’t be having.

The show has also promised to deliver a lot of twists and turns, so get ready, it’s going to be a good one.

The double episode premiere starts tonight, 9pm on Virgin Media One.
