Sarah Hyland Waves Goodbye To Modern Family After 11 Years

“Our cast and crew were always phenomenal and we very quickly grew to be a real life #modernfamily!” We’re not crying, you are. OK, maybe we both are.

Today marks the end of an era as Modern Family airs their final episode after 11 years of laughs and entertainment. Sharing a selection of photos from over the 11 years, Sarah Hyland, who played the angsty yet lovable teen, Haley Dunphy, shared her sadness to end the show, writing:

“I will miss these people tremendously but am so grateful I was lucky enough to work with them. So get your tissues ready…”

Also shedding tears was Jessie Tyler. Jessie who plays Mitchell Pritchett got emotional online saying: “Just like that, it’s over. 11 years of my life spent with these beautiful souls. You all have played such a huge part in the forming of my being. I will never forget.”

Jessie also thanked the fans for tuning in saying that “without you, there would be no show.”

Sharing another image as he waves goodbye to Mitchell, Jessie looked emotional and puffy from crying.

“We are all so grateful for the love we’ve received over the course of this 11 year journey. To know our fans love our family just as much as we do is the most amazing gift,” Ariel Winters added who plays the younger sister, Alex Dunphy in the show.

And there you have it. 250 episodes, 11 seasons and Modern Family draws the curtain for the last time. And although the final episode airs tonight on ABC in the US, UK and Ireland fans will need to wait an extra week to watch it, with the the last episode due to air on April 15 at 8.30pm on Sky One and Now TV.

Again, we’re not crying… *breaks down*
