Meghan Markle, who?

Looks like we could be getting a new Suits series – Harvey and Mike shippers unite.

The new series, which has yet to be confirmed, it reported to be set in the same universe as the original Suits show but featuring new characters and a new setting.

Deadline reports that the series is “not a revival or a reboot unlike the 2019 Pearson, the new legal procedural is not a spinoff either — it would be a Suits universe series in the vein of the CSI and NCIS franchises featuring new characters in a new location, sources said.”

They added: “I hear Los Angeles is a backdrop considered for the workplace drama.”

Series creator Aaron Korsh is reportedly working on the series at NBCUniversal, and although nothing has been confirmed just yet, the project is apparently being fast tracked by the network.

Suits first aired back in 2011 and ended in 2019. It has been lauded as the breakout series for Meghan Markle, who left the series soon after her relationship with Prince Harry became public, leaving fellow stars Gabriel Macht, Sarah Rafferty, and Katherine Heigl to wrap up the show.

The legal drama follows Mike, a college dropout who uses his photographic memory to talk his way into a job for attorney Harvey. A spin-off, entitled Pearson, aired for one season in 2019, following Jessica Pearson’s entry into politics in Chicago.

The series recently broke streaming records landing the no.1 spot on the overall Nielsen Streaming Top 10 for the 12th week in a row.

Ozark previously held the record across overall appearances for a series throughout all of its seasons. Suits managed the same in just 12 weeks.

It’s expected that this new series will be green-lit due to the popularity of Suits on streaming, even though these high numbers are likely in part due to Meghan Markle’s appearance in the show before entering the royal family.

Best get her back for the spin-off then, sure.
