WATCH: Saved By The Bell Is Coming Back And The Reboot Features Familiar Faces
Who's ready to return to Bayside High?
Fans of Saved By The Bell, get ready to take a trip down memory lane. The hit TV show of the late 80s, early 90s is coming back and it’s set to feature some seriously familiar faces.
Returning to Bayside High, AC Slater (Mario Lopez) and Jessie Spano (Elizabeth Berkley) will return to the TV show however, this time they’re no longer teens but the teachers who run the school.
Incase you never watched Saved By The Bell back in the glory days, the reboot is going to follow a similar storyline to the original show, following the lives of students at the high school from their romances to their drama-fuelled friendships.
However, this time the show is taking a serious Generation Z/Alpha turn, with remarks to Justin Bieber being “like, 100 years old” and all the students books seen in tablet form, it’s certainly different to the days we were in school, breaking our backs with 100 books.
In one scene in the trailer (which has us totally amped up for the show) we see Slater talking to Spano in his office.
“Do you remember how much fun high school used to be?,” he asks.
Spano replies: “Can you believe that was like 30 years ago?”
Where has the time gone? Seriously.
In the short trailer we also get introduced to Bayside’s new principal, another familiar face to comedy TV – Jonathan Michael Higgins, who plays Ronald Toddmann. Speaking to the teachers he says: “These kids can be sheltered… and clueless.”
This show is already shaping up to be a good one.
NBC have yet to confirm an official reboot date for the show but we do know it’s expected to debut this year on the Peacock streaming service.
