A bestseller since 2018 and noted as a must-read playbook for your 20s, it’s no surprise that Everything I Know About Love by author, journalist and former HighLow cohost Dolly Alderton is being made into a TV adaptation.
The book is Dolly’s memoir, highlighting life in her 20s, a deeply personal and riotously funny account of everything from struggling to pay rent to dating, sex and friendships. The book brilliantly encapsulates everything that one goes through when they try to find themselves, from moving out of home to figuring what path they want to take and the big ol’ questions surround the meaning of life. The book is light hearted, beautiful and actually, a pretty emotional look at the power of female friendships.
Now, after its victory in print, the book is coming to our small screens and it’s set to become a BBC TV series with Working Title.

According to Dolly herself, the show will follow the same storyline as the book, however, will be semi-fictionalised so it’s not too close to the bone in terms of Dolly’s past and the various (real life) people that could be affected.
“It is an honour to be on their slate of upcoming shows. And before every boy I dated a decade ago messages me today to breezily ask how I am, it’s semi-fictionalised, so don’t panic fellas,” the author wrote online.
So far we know that the storyline will follow two single women in their 20s, living together in London and just by that alone, we’re already buzzing.
Dolly will of course be at the helm of the production, as well as director China Moo-Young and commissioning editor Piers Wenger off the back off Michaela Coel’s acclaimed BBC drama I May Destroy You.
Yep, we certainly have a lot to look forward to.
As for cast and air date, none of that has yet been revealed, but we’ll for sure keep you updated when we hear more.
