So it’s pretty clear by now that we’re all missing a trick working actual jobs when you consider the eye-watering sums people are making from social media.

In case you’re unfamiliar with her work – Bella Thorne is a former Disney actress turned wild child party-girl turned teen movie star (her new film Midnight Sun looks like a classic weepy romance). But she’s also making hefty sums from posting on Instagram, on which she has about seven million followers.

In a new interview with Vogue and Broadly, Bella explained how it all works:

For grid posting it’s $65,000 per post, and for Story posting it’s anywhere from $10,000 to $20,000, and for Snapchat it’s the same as Insta Story.

“Instagram is 100% a job to me. I started out at 18 with literally $200 in my bank account and I bought this house after a year, a year and a half. That’s all from social media.”

And she’s not the only actress finding social media an extremely lucrative industry – last year, Busy Philipps admitted that she earned more from sponsored content than she did from acting.

“I gotta be honest with you,” she said on her Instagram Story. “I didn’t make a ton of money as an actor last year. I made more of my money doing that kind of stuff, like the partnerships with brands.”
