The Dogs Trust Story Of Jovi And Cindy Will Make You Feel All Of The Feels Today

BRB, sobbing.

Way too often, I think about how I would just love to adopt all of the dogs – all of them. So it’s always lovely to hear when dogs in rehoming centres find their forever homes. Which is exactly the good news we have for you today, as inseparable pair, Jovi and Cindy from Dogs Trust, have found their forever home. Together!

Just before Christmas, the two ended up at Dogs Trust together. It was then discovered that Jovi, a five-year-old golden retriever and Cindy, a seven-year-old cocker spaniel both had skin issues. There were also indications they had produced multiple litters of puppies and Jovi, unfortunately, had issues with her hind legs.

Following the advice of a veterinary surgeon, Jovi has already had one surgery on her knees and is due to have another in a few weeks time.

Although when Jovi was having her first surgery, Cindy missed her so much that staff kept her with them in their offices during the day and took her home with them at night until Jovi recovered enough to re-join her devoted pal. Sobbing.

In some good news, Niamh Curran-Kelly, Veterinary and Welfare Manager at Dogs Trust Ireland, has revealed that the pair have now found their forever home. “Given how attached Cindy and Jovi are to each other, we were determined to find them a home together. We are thrilled that a wonderful adopter has opened her home and her heart to both dogs, and they will be going to their Forever Home as soon as Jovi has fully recovered from her surgeries.”

But as Dogs Trust is still home to hundreds of dogs, the rehoming centre is appealing to the public to help them with their lifesaving work.
