The Italian Villa From Normal People Is On Airbnb For An Absolute Steal

Summer 2021, we're thinking 'bout you.

As many of us put our holidays on the long finger, we’re keeping in high spirits by planning our next trip overseas, when sunshine and cocktails will be our number one priority.

Like half the nation, having just binge-watched the TV adaptation to Sally Rooney’s phenomenal 2018 novel, Normal People, we’re engrossed in everything about the show from the cast (*cough* Paul), to the stunning film locations which span from Sligo’s Streedagh Beach to Sant’Oreste, Italy.

And speaking of Sant’Oreste, the whopper villa that the cast stay in during the show which is owned by Marianne’s parents, is now available to rent IRL and for an absolute steal.

Il Casale Tenuta Verzano is located in the town of Sant’Oreste about 30 minutes outside the city of Rome. The two bedroom villa sleeps six people and the whole home is available to rent at approximately €40 per night.

Not only that, but a stunning pool is also available for private use and the villa comes with some picturesque views helping you to really soak up the countryside while being just a short car journey away from the hustle and bustle of Rome.

Recently speaking about his newfound fame, Normal People star, Paul Mescal chatted about the sex scenes in the show and how as a new actor starting out, he felt quite empowered stripping off for the camera.

“[There was a] sense of security and safety that the nudity required on the show wasn’t going to be used perversely or feel pornographic.”

“It was always Lenny’s intention for it to be honest and truthful. When you trust people of Lenny and Hettie’s calibre, you trust what they want to do with the film.”

Continuing, Paul added that an intimacy coordinator worked with them throughout filming, helping them to feel comfortable and confident at all times.

“We felt incredibly empowered throughout to discuss things that might make us feel uncomfortable if we were to see it back on screens.”

If you haven’t finished Normal People yet, episode three and four air on RTÉ tonight, Tuesday May 5th at 10:15pm.
