The Real Reason Carrie Ended Up With Mr Big Has Just Been Revealed And We CAN’T Believe IT

When Sex and The City was on our screens, there were a number of things that had viewers divided.

Who was Carrie’s best friend? Charlotte, Samantha or Miranda? What insanely un-affordable shoes would she be wearing in this episode?

But it’s widely agreed that the main question of the hit HBO series was who should Carrie end up with, Aidan or Mr.Big.

As we know, she ultimately married the latter, but had a middle eastern reunion with the hunky Aidan which made us question had she made the right choice.

Well it seems that author of the original SATC book Candace Bushnell has revealed why exactly it was Carrie and Big in the end.

“My mother always hated Aidan, for some reason, so I could never really be team Aidan,” she told US Weekly.

“Whenever I would go home and visit my parents, my mother would say, ‘Why is Carrie with Aidan and not Mr. Big? You’ve got to get rid of Aidan.’ My mother never felt that Aidan was the right person for Carrie. So I felt obligated to take her side.”‘

We wonder how things would have ended if Candace’s mother was an Aidan fan!?
