The Start Date For Winter Love Island Has Been Confirmed
Something to banish the January boredom?
We didn’t really know how to feel about the news of a second season of Love Island each year. Six nights a week is a lot of commitment, plus the endless time we spend glued to Instagram Stories, keeping up with hundreds of articles, and even tuning into the podcasts. But we’re about to be dominated by it all over again, as the Winter Love Island start date has been confirmed.
The show will be gracing our screens on a nightly basis again come January 8th – we all knew it was coming, as ITV announced the news back in July, but we’re a little more excited than we thought we’d be that the countdown is now on.
The word on the street is that the Love Island staff are to arrive in South Africa on January 1st to start the preparations and make sure everything is in place for the show to run smoothly. A source close to the ever so popular show spilled the beans: “The new Winter Love Island will launch the second week of January. Bosses are still deciding on the final date but it is thought to be January 8, a week after staff arrive in South Africa.”
Plus, instead of the usual eight weeks of Love Island madness it’ll be reduced to six. But hey, we’re not complaining.
One good thing about this season so far is that a nightly show is a lot more welcome in the miserable winter weather, rather than taking over the long summer evenings. PJs, candles and munch at the ready!
