The Strange and Wonderful World Of Celebrity Brands You May Not Know Exist

They've all got one, it seems..

Every celebrity seems to have some type of brand these days. We are all familiar with beauty brands such as Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez, Fenty by Rihanna and R.E.M. by Ariana Grande, but did you know all of these celebs had their own brand too?

While researching celebrity brands, we went down a rabbit hole; there are an infinite (maybe a tad dramatic) amount. Many create skincare or beauty brands, but others are, well, a bit different

It got us thinking: are these brands successful or just a fun side project for millionaires? And how are there so many we’ve never heard of? 

Skincare

Scarlett Johansson – The Outset 

Scarlett Johansson co-founded a skincare brand, The Outset, established in 2022. The brand focuses on skincare staples, not trends and describes themselves as “consciously clean.”

Brad Pitt – Beau Domaine 

Established in 2022, Brad Pitt is the endorser and co-founder of Beau Domaine, a skincare brand created by a family of winemakers and developed by scientists. The products use the antioxidant properties of grapes grown in French vineyards.

Makeup 

Halsey – About Face 

Halsey is the founder, chief creative officer and head makeup artist of About Face, a makeup brand established in 2021. They describe themselves as a brand that does makeup without rules. 

Lady Gaga – Haus Labs 

Lady Gaga founded Haus Labs, a makeup brand, in 2019. This brand also describes itself as clean beauty and donates $1 from every purchase to the Born This Way Foundation.

Haircare 

Jennifer Aniston – Lolavie

Jennifer Aniston founded LolaVie, a hair care brand, in 2021. The brand keeps it simple by offering eight products, from shampoo to hair oil. The products are made from naturally derived, plant-based ingredients that promote healthier hair. Lolavie products are for all hair types and textures.

Come on, is there anything more iconic than JenAn’s hair, the Rachel cut? Hello!

Tracee Ellis Ross founded Pattern Beauty in 2018. The brand focuses on hair care for the “curliest, coiliest, & tightest of hair textures”.

Naomi Watts is Stripes’s founder and Chief Creative Officer, and the brand was established in 2022. It was created to help people pre and post-menopause, from haircare to supplements to vaginal wellness.

Kate Hudson – Fabletics 

Kate Hudson is a shareholder in the activewear meets fashion brand Fabletics. She was the face of the brand for years and now has an advisory role in the company. The brand was established in 2014; since then, Fabletics has had tremendous success. They have collaborated with Lizzo, Khloe Kardashian and Vanessa Hudgens

Reese Witherspoon founded Draper James, a clothing-turned-lifestyle brand in 2013. Draper James was inspired by Reeses’s grandmother, Dorothea Draper and grandfather, William James Witherspoon. The brand sells clothes as well as accessories and homeware.

Harry Styles – Pleasing 

Harry Styles founded Pleasing, a lifestyle brand established in 2021. The brand started by selling nail polish and serum. It has now expanded to selling fragrances, accessories, apparel and more.

Honest – Jessica Alba 

One of the older companies listed, Honest by Jessica Alba was established in 2012. The brand started by selling baby products after her firstborn had an allergic reaction. Now, the company sells a wide range of “clean” products, from nappies to makeup.

Blake Lively – Betty Buzz 

Blake Lively is the founder of Betty Buzz, a non-alcoholic brand that creates clean, sparkling beverages. The brand describes themselves as “clean” and “real and uncomplicated”. They share non-alcoholic and alcoholic recipe ideas on their website (which is very aesthetically pleasing).

Emma Watson – Renais Gin

Emma Watson and her brother Alex are the founders of Renais Gin; the siblings established the brand in 2023. Their father, Chris, has a long history of making award-winning wines, which inspired the duo to create Renais Gin, which they make from upcycled grape skins from the winemaking process.

Cardi B – Whipshots 

In 2021 Cardi B co-founded  Whipshots, which offers vodka-infused whipped cream in a can, alongside Starco Brands. In 2022, the brand sold one million cans! Whip Shots are 10% alcohol and offer five flavours, from lime to mocha.

Jaden SmithJUST

Jaden Smith founded JUST (Just Water) in 2015 after seeing beaches cluttered with plastic; he wanted to create an eco-conscious brand. The bottle is made from 90% plant-derived materials. The brand has expanded, and offers flavoured sparking beverages like coconut and strawberry.

Ed Sheeran – Tingly Ted’s 

Ed Sheeran is the founder of  Tingly Ted’s, a hot sauce brand which was established in 2023. The brand was inspired by Ed’s love of sauces, especially ketchup and hot sauce. There are currently two types of sauces, “Tingly” and “Xtra Tingly.”

Post Malone founded Maison No.9  in 2020. Post Malone, Dre London (music manager) and James Morrissey (entrepreneur) went to the source to taste different blends until they found the perfect rosé. Maison No.9 is made in Provence for the best quality.

Nobu – Nobu Matsuhisa and Robert De Niro 

This last one may be the most surprising, you may have heard of Nobu because it has been a hot spot for celebrities for years. Nobu is a luxury restaurant that serves Japanese fusion cuisine.

Renowned Chef Nobu Matsuhisa created it. The restaurant has expanded hugely, with several locations globally since its establishment in 1994. The celebrity behind it? Robert De Niro is one of the co-founders!
