The Twins Beyoncé Is Holding In Those Photos From Her Tour Aren’t Actually Rumi And Sir

We're as confused as you are.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z kicked off their On The Run II tour last night in Cardiff, Wales – fans were not only treated to more than 40 hit songs like ***Flawless and 99 Problems but to a rare glimpse of the couple’s one-year-old twins, Sir and Rumi Carter.

Or so we thought. Let us break it down for you.

Well-known for being ultra-private, the Carters have rarely allowed their infants to be seen in public. The most we’ve got is this snap Queen B posted on her Instagram last year.

So when images of Bey and Jay holding babies appeared on the big screen at the Principality Stadium, fans naturally assumed they were Sir and Rumi.

Both Beyonce and Jay-Z were shown cradling the babies in separate photographs between title cards that read ‘Love is Universal’ and ‘Love Never Changes’, and again in a shot where they appeared to be renewing their vows.

The babies had to be Sir and Rumi, right?

Apparently not.

When Buzzfeed reached out to Beyonce’s representatives for comment and asked if the babies were in fact Sir and Rumi, the rep’s reply was, “It’s not.” Us Weekly also confirmed that the infants in the footage were not Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s.

So who are the babies? And why aren’t they Sir and Rumi? To be honest we have no clue!
