The Wildest Moments from Married at First Sight Australia So Far

Chaos

If you haven’t been watching Married at First Sight Australia, let me tell you, you’re missing out.

The series follows singles who participate in an experiment where they are matched by ‘experts’ and first meet on their wedding day. They then go on a honeymoon, move in together, meet the family, and go through different bonding exercises.

This show has plenty of scandal in every episode and is currently airing every Monday to Thursday on Channel 4. If you don’t have time to catch up on the 22 episodes that are out so far, not to worry, we’ve picked some of the craziest moments that have happened so far to catch you up.

Jack’s ex reveals he lied to her about joining the experiment

Most definitely, the villain of this year’s MAFS is Jack, a 34-year-old personal trainer who many of the other couples are sceptical of. His intentions are unclear as he tells his new wife Tori one thing and the cameras another.

Jack got a taste of his own medicine when his ex-girlfriend revealed to the media that he told her he was “going overseas for a job” only to find out later that he was set to be married on the show.

Got an ex who’s about to call out your bad behaviour? Just call her crazy! It’s the perfect way to disregard her claims. And that’s exactly what Jack did, only to be called out by the experts for his misogynistic words.

Collins acting as if he’s on the set of Neighbours

After a honeymoon from hell, Natalie decided to call it quits with her husband Collins at the first dinner party and let’s just say Collins’ reaction was… strange. It was pretty obvious from the moment he married Natalie at first sight, Collins was not authentic and unfortunately, (for him) his acting was not up to scratch.

After the first dinner party Natalie decided to give it another go with her husband, however, during the commitment ceremony where the couples update the experts on their relationship and reveal whether they want to stay or leave, Natalie revealed she “didn’t trust” her groom as she felt he was only telling her things she wanted to hear and not acting on his actions.

Natalie deserved better!

Sara cancelling three dates with her husband Tim because she was hungover

If Jack is this year’s MAFS villain, Tim is the hero.  Tim and Sara got off to a rocky start when they didn’t exactly get along on their honeymoon. The pair are incredibly attractive, have a love for travel, and many common interests – they are a perfect match on paper. In real life, however, not so much.

Tim reached his breaking point when Sara cancelled their date for a third time because she was hungover… yikes.

Tim has still not given up on his wife and is continuing to try to win her over despite her lack of interest.

One word – Deece

In true Aussie fashion, this groom Ridge abbreviates everything, and I mean everything.

Entering the experiment at the halfway point, Ridge and Jade hit it off immediately but Jade was slightly apprehensive of Ridge’s questionable humour.

After the word “deece” was used about 1000 times during the wedding (that’s not an over-exaggeration) Ridge’s groomsman, Chris explained, “Deece means decent, which is like… very good looking in our terminology.”

It’s clear that this might be one of the only words in Ridge’s vocabulary as he even got his friends to shout the word in the middle of the ceremony which shocked his new bride and his own guests.

Jack asks Johno “Can you muzzle your woman”

Arguably one of the most disgusting comments in MAFS history, Jack told another husband to muzzle his woman and the table was collectively shocked.

The explosive argument began when Lauren called out Jack for his insensitive jokes. Lauren’s husband Johno claimed that during a gym session, Jack said if he hadn’t slept with his bride Tori by the couple swap, he hoped one of the other grooms would.

Jack refused to repeat his “joke” to the other couples as it “wasn’t appropriate for the dinner table” but apparently it’s totally acceptable to say in the gym. Interesting.

To everyone’s shock Tori has stood by and defended Jack’s misogynistic behaviour leaving everyone wonder what exactly her limit would be.

Stephen’s cheating scandal and Michael’s fitting t-shirt

When Stephen and Michael had a photo shoot for the show, Michael was shocked to see Stephen flirting with the hairdresser and texting him. Michael was let down once before in the experiment when his first match decided not to go through with the experiment.

Michael and Stephen were already rocky when Stephen told the experts he didn’t feel a sexual spark between them.

When Michael called Stephen out for his emotional cheating, he left his wedding ring on the table and told Stephen he was finished while wearing a t-shirt with the iconic Real Housewives’ cat meme. Obsessed.
