Love Island Boy Was Told Not To Pick Paige Thorne For A Date By Producers

Love Island star Jay Younger is opening up about his time in the villa, specifically why he and Paige Thorne didn’t get a chance to really explore their romance.

We all remember Jay coupling up with Ekin-Su following crawl gate and all that drama, but soon after Jay broke things off with Ekin-Su, wanting to explore a relationship with Paige…which didn’t really work out well. Who could forget, Paige holding hand with Jacques, who she was in a couple with before Jay chose her, while sharing a bed with Jay.

While Jay and Paige tried to find a spark it didn’t work out, ending when she and Jacques coupled up again. But now Jay is explaining why he waited so long to pursue Paige, explaining how producers asked him to stay away from her.

The Scots man told Metro: “When I went in I came in as a bombshell and on the first night it was pretty obvious Paige and I liked each other a lot, I actually spent most of my first night with Paige,”

Continuing: “Although none of us firmly said to each other we were going to couple up it was clear that we really liked each other.”

‘Then I was told I was going to get a text and I was going to pick three girls to take on a date but the producers told me to stay away from Paige because it makes the storyline too predictable.”

Also sharing how he didn’t get to tell Paige why he didn’t take her on a date, which complicated their relationship.

Saying: “I’ve never been on a show like that before so you just go with it,’ he continued. ‘When I didn’t pick Paige I didn’t tell Paige so then I didn’t know what was going through her head.”

This comes following Paige’s split from her Love Island beau, Adam Collard.

Rumours of a breakup began to swirl after videos of Adam cuddling another girl while with Paige leaked. Appearing on the Saving Grace podcast with TikTok star Grace Kelly and she is spilt all the tea on her recent split.

When host Grace brought up those infamous videos of Adam with his arm around a girl in McDonalds Paige admitted she tried to justify his actions at first, but there were even more videos sent to her privately that made her end things completely.

Explaining Paige said, “It’s not just them videos, there are other videos that other people don’t know about, so it’s a lot more to the story. Of other people, on the same night, in different locations…”
