As if the track and video weren’t iconic enough, it turns out Cardi B was hoping to get one more famous face to star in her music video WAP.

The incredible hit track which features vocals from Cardi B and Megan The Stallion and cameos from from Kylie Jenner, Normani and Rosalia, had a space for one more in the video and that was apparently reserved for none other than Lizzo.

In a recent interview with Hot 97, Cardi B explained that Lizzo wasn’t available for the shooting, but that the pair still keep in close contact.

“I’m cool with Lizzo and everything. Like, we’ve been sending DMs to each other and all that. But she was on vacation and she wasn’t in town.

“I was like, ‘Oh my gosh,’ because I had a whole vision about how I want to see Lizzo and everything.”

As she continued, Cardi B explained that for her, when it came to creating the video, she wanted to make sure she included a wide variety of women, with different races and different backgrounds.

A source for Kylie Jenner admitted that although she received backlash for her role in the music video which many deemed as “unnecessary”, the KUWTK star was happy to take part.

“She is bothered by any negative comments out there, but she’s human. She’s doing her best to not let any controversial comments get to her because she’s proud of the project,” the source told Hollywood Life.

And it appears as though Cardi B stands by her decision too, explaining that she picked Kylie and the rest of the ladies for good reason, saying:

“I wanted a lot of different females, not just female rappers. All the girls right here, there’s different things that I like about them.”

Well, there you have it. Now, if we could have another version of WAP with Lizzo, that would be ideal.
