Tommy Tiernan Said That Season 3 Will Be The Final Series Of Derry Girls And The Internet Is Not Happy
He’d want to catch himself on
Tommy Tiernan has sparked talk that season 3 of Derry Girls, which is currently underway, will be the last of the hilarious series.
Speaking on The Jason Manford Show on Absolute radio, Tommy was asked about his role as Erin’s Dad on the sitcom, and what he thinks the future of Derry Girls looks like.
To which he responded:
“This is the last series, I think. As far as I know, this is the very last series.”
Absolutely devo.
BUT, before you go running for the Kleenex to wipe away your tears, the show’s creator Lisa McGee took to Twitter yesterday to calm anxious fans, and let them know that she is indeed, ‘plotting’.
She wrote:
“I’m currently in the thick of writing series 3. Who knows what the future holds for The Derry Girls but please don’t worry… we are plotting!”

Well, looks like we’ll just have to binge on old series in the meantime.
