Tributes are being paid to actor Hayden Panettiere, who sadly passed away aged 36.

The star, who is best known for her roles in Nashville and Heroes, as well as the new Scream franchise, died on August 16, according to a statement by PEOPLE.

The statement from her father Skip read: “It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden.

“She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her — and to the millions who watched her onscreen.”

Skip also asked for privacy for the family as they “take time to process this unimaginable loss.”

Hayden began her career as a child star back in 1998, when she voiced ‘Dot’ in A Bug’s Life, later appearing in 2000’s Remember The Titans.

She achieved major stardom when she was cast in sci-fi show, Heroes, and critical acclaim for her role as Juliette Barnes in Nashville, for which she received two Golden Globe nominations.

Tributes have been streaming in for Hayden since the news of her passing, from friends, family, and fellow actors.

Actor Beverley Mitchell wrote: “Praying the news is wrong! You are such a bright light and soooo loved,” while Selma Blair said: “I love you. Don’t be gone. Please.”
