Trisha Lewis: ‘The Number On The Scales Will Never Dictate How Much You’re Loved’

The new issue of STELLAR is out - now!

Trisha Lewis is a social media sensation.

You may know her better as @trishas.transformation, but over time, her account has become about a whole lot more than just losing weight.

In the latest issue of STELLAR, the author, influencer, and chef tells editor-in-chief Megan Roantree that she’s moved far beyond the idea of numbers on a scale dictating her happiness.

“People will associate you with one thing, but I think there is so much more to this weight loss world, and I think the word ‘transformation’ for me has layers,” she says.

“Each year that passes I’m developing and learning more. I’ve realised that the issue is never the issue. I set up this weight loss page [thinking] when I reach my goal weight I’ll be happy… never!

“Anyone reading this needs to realise that the size of your pants or the number on the scales will never dictate how much you’re loved, or your worth or how much you deserve in life.”

Over the years, Trisha has learned to love, value, and respect herself – all the while finding ways to improve her mental health.

This couldn’t just be achieved through weight loss, but rather by changing her entire attitude towards body confidence and self love.

“My grandmother would always complain about her weight,” she says, “she was never as good as the woman down the road and I think that’s why it’s more than just a weight loss account.

“This for me is retracing my steps and hopefully putting a path there for some young woman to come along and go ‘right, it’s going to be the long game, but I’ll do it out of a place of love and not hatred.'”

Trisha also opens up to STELLAR about her gambling addiction, and her struggle with sharing her addiction with her followers.

“Even I feel the taboo that is there in Ireland, with gambling alone, then you add female, then you add young, and then influencer. None of it fits the bracket of what I should be saying,” she says.

“It was terrifying but it was a small bit of a relief. I’d get a message that would say ‘My boyfriend knows you from the casino, is that right?’ and I’d just be like ‘oh my god it’s catching up on me’.”
