Vicky explained that for years she has had such severe PMS symptoms that it has affected her relationships, her work, and her “quality of life”.

“At times, it made me feel like I was going insane – I just do not recognise myself for 2 weeks of the month” she wrote.

“Sometimes, when I’m proper in the midst of this & totally consumed by my own dark thoughts I convince myself that I’m never going to get better”.

Vicky shared that after struggling for a long time, she decided to take the private healthcare route, where she found a doctor who listened to her.

“When the doctor said to me ‘it sounds like you have PMDD..’ I cried. I cried because I felt f**king heard in a medical setting for the first time in years.”

After posting, Vicky updated her Instagram stories with some information about PMDD, sharing some of her own symptoms with her followers.

Friends and fans of the former reality star flooded the comments with words of support.

Former Love Islander Dr Alex wrote “Sending love to you… you are AWESOME. Remember that x”

One commenter said “Love you. Thank u for sharing and being so open and am glad you have now at last got answers x”, while another added “Your posts are definitely helping the women and girls that are reading. Thank you.”
