Victoria Beckham Just Shared Some Achingly Cute Details About The Way She And David First Met

Posh and Becks may well be the definition of couple goals now, but as Victoria Beckham reveals they did have a slightly bumpy romantic start.

Writing in a letter to her 18-year-old self VB explains that she’d actually had a few too many tipples when she first met her future hubby in the Man United players’ lounge.

Under the heading What I Wish I’d Known, Victoria tells her younger self to “Learn more about football, especially the off-side rule”, before divulging the details on how she encountered David for the very first time.

“Yes, love at first sight does exist,” she writes. “It will happen to you in the Manchester United players’ lounge – although you will get a little drunk, so exact details are hazy.”

She then reminisces about that fateful first encounter and it is ALL OF THE CUTE.

“While the other football players stand at the bar drinking with their mates, you will see David standing aside with his family,” she writes. “He’s not even in the first team at this stage – you are the famous one. And he has such a cute smile. You, too, are close to your family, and you will think how similar he feels to you.”

And it’s this last detail that gets us right in the feels: “He’s going to ask for your number,” VB adds. “He still has the London-to-Manchester plane ticket on which you wrote it.”

So sweet, right?


Victoria also uses the letter to address body image.

She writes “You are not the prettiest, or the thinnest, or the best at dancing at the Laine Theatre Arts college. You have never properly fitted in…You have bad acne. You think the principal has put you at the back of the end-of-year show (in a humiliatingly bright purple Lycra leotard) because you are too plump to go at the front. (This may or may not be true.)”

In conclusion, VB equals queen.
