Wait What? Katy Perry Has Been BANNED From China And The Victoria Secret Fashion Show
The reason is BIZARRE
Pop star Katy Perry has been banned from entering China, and therefore will be unable to perform at the Victoria Secret fashion show as planned, for a very strange reason.
The I Kissed A Girl singer was booked to perform at the legendary lingerie fashion show in Shanghai next week, but had her Chinese visa application denied due to an outfit she wore back in 2015.
During a performance in Taipei, Taiwan, in 2015, Katy wore a sunflower dress and waved the Taiwanese flag. The sunflower is said to have been adopted as a symbol by anti-China protesters.
@katyperry had her Visa 4 #China denied because of her performance in #Taiwan, that’s stupid and ridiculous! She wore the sunflower dress (which is the flower they use in the protests against China and waved the Taiwanese flag during the show!No more #VictoriaSecretFashionShow ? pic.twitter.com/eQFsiMAvtr

The star is yet to make a statement on the issue, but fans on twitter are very unhappy with the decision by Chinese authorities, some calling it “ridiculous”, while others called for China to “take their politics somewhere else.”
It’s not all bad news however, as Harry Styles has been announced as Katy’s replacement.
