The angels have been listening and our prayers have been answered.

An Irish version of The Traitors is possibly in development!

If you haven’t watched the UK version of the show, you’re seriously missing out. It’s halfway through season too, and fans are hooked.

The premise is that twenty two strangers compete for a cash prize, but some of them have been secretly chosen as traitors.

The group must figure out who the traitors are and vote them out at the roundtable each night.

If the traitors make it through to the end, they’ll get to split the cash prize between them – but if the ‘faithfuls’ can sniff them all out, they’ll get to share the dough.

Each night, the traitors also get to secretly murder one of the group, which leads to lots of suspicions and tensions throughout.

It’s hilarious, super dramatic and incredibly binge worthy, with viewership through the roof.

Since the success of the first season of The Traitors UK, there’s been spin offs in America, New Zealand, and Australia – and now we’re finally en route to getting our own!

According to the Irish Times, RTÉ are in talks with the production company who make The Traitors to create one here.

Reportedly the team want to film “the potential Irish version at an Irish castle and had identified a shortlist of possible locations.”

Exciting!

There’s no news yet on whether the show is officially green lit, but we can be sure the demand is here for it.

We wonder where the set might be, and who would act as presenter? Do we have any Claudia Winklemans of our own?!

Watch this space for news on applications – we can only imagine what the contestants will be like!
