We’ve Been Promised A Second Season Of Squid Game
"I almost feel like you leave us no choice!"
Exciting news for Squid Game fans today, which is pretty much all of us, let’s be honest, as a second season has been promised to us by the show’s creator Hwang Dong-hyuk.
Chatting about the success of the show and the demand for more, Hwang told Associated Press:
“So there’s been so much pressure, so much demand and so much love for a second season. So I almost feel like you leave us no choice!”
“But I will say there will indeed be a second season. It’s in my head right now. I’m in the planning process currently. But I do think it’s too early to say when and how that’s going to happen”
Going on to promise us we’ll be seeing more of our faves on screen in some shape or form, he added:
“So I will promise you this… Gi-Hun will come back, and he will do something for the world”
It’s no secret that Squid Game was Netflix’s biggest series launch of all time. Breaking records, by mid-October the show had reached 111million viewers.
The show followed a series of characters who, strapped for cash, compete in a series of games, designed for children, but with a twist. Attempting to win a hefty cash prize, each contestant who fails at a round loses not just the game but their lives too.
