We’ve Got The Wicklow Filming Schedule For Disney’s Disenchanted

Want to catch a glimpse of Hollywood stars IRL?

From the incredible princess-like home in Greystones to sightings of Patrick Dempsey wearing an Aran knit jumper while out and about in Dublin, excitement is certainly building about Disney’s new sequel to Enchanted, Disenchanted.

And the good news doesn’t stop there as filming for the sequel begins in the transformed village of Enniskerry today, Monday 14th.

Disenchanted will be a follow up to the 2007 fantasy film Enchanted which will see Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey return to their roles as Giselle and Robert Philip.

Now it’s not very often that some of Hollywood’s biggest stars are in Ireland wandering around a Disney transformed Irish town. So, you might want to get a glimpse of it all for yourself.

It’s a good idea to know the filming schedule. A sign has been put up in Enniskerry, featuring a breakdown of the shoot dates and times ahead of filming.

The village will be closed for the most part of their filming hours. They will be filming between the hours of 7am and 10pm from Monday, June 14th until Friday, June 18th.

They will return on July 6th to July 9th between the hours of 5pm and 7pm and then again on Wednesday, July 21st and Thursday, July 22nd from 7am until 10pm.

On non-filming days it looks like the town will be open to locals and visitors so it could be the perfect time to visit the Disney transformed village. How exciting!

Alongside the town of Enniskerry, filming is also expected to take place in Dundalk, Dublin city and Greystones anytime between now and August 2021. So, there’s lots of opportunities to set your eyes on the Disney film and its stars in action.

What’s the sequel about?

The original movie followed an animated woman, Giselle (Amy Adams) who was set to marry Price Edward but finds herself trapped in the real world, where the film switches from animation to live-action.

Giselle meets the dashing divorce lawyer, Robert (Patrick Dempsey), and soon finds out that living in the real world with real problems isn’t too bad and love can find you when you least expect it. Very Disney, right?

Picking up 10 years after the original movie it looks like the main characters Giselle, Robert, and Morgan (Rachel Convey) have moved from New York City to the suburbs.

According to Collider, the movie reportedly finds Giselle, ‘questioning her happily ever after and accidentally triggering events that make everyone’s lives turn upside down in both the real world and in the animated kingdom of Andalasia.’ The chaos never ends when Giselle is involved!

For now, we’re off to plan our trip to Enniskerry and watch the original movie Enchanted to get into the full Disney spirit!
