What’s Going On With Miley And Billy Ray Cyrus?

It’s long been rumoured that there’s a feud within the Cyrus family.

And this theory was only exacerbated when Miley delivered her Grammys speech earlier this month.

The singer won her first two Grammy Awards, and noticeably left her father Billy Ray Cyrus out of her acceptance speech.

At the end, she appeared to add insult to injury by adding, “I don’t think I forgot anyone, but I might have forgotten underwear. Bye.”

Fans quickly noticed that Billy Ray had been left out of her speech, and have speculated that that the Flowers singer is not on good terms with her father.

Miley also left his name out of the caption on her Instagram post from the Grammys.

A source told US Weekly that Billy Ray and Miley are not speaking – but that he has tried to get in contact with Miley.

“He’s tried reaching out to Miley many times and congratulated her on her Grammys.”

In her acceptance speech Miley thanked her Mother Tish Cyrus, who married Dominic Purcell in August 2023 after divorcing Billy Ray in April 2022.

Two months after Tish’s remarriage, Billy Ray tied the knot with Australian musician Firerose.

Miley and her siblings appeared to take sides when their parents re-married,  and a rift appeared to take place within the family.

Only Miley and her older siblings Trace and Brandi attended their mother’s second marriage. Miley’s younger siblings, Braison and Noah, skipped the affair to spend time with their father instead, according to Cosmopolitan.

A source close to Miley told E News! that “the divorce between her parents have put a strain on her relationship with her dad and it’s been hard to connect with him in the last year. She hopes they can eventually work on their relationship.”

According to Us Weekly, Miley is close with her mom and is standing by her, while Noah has “always been [closer] with Billy Ray, causing a rift between the sisters.”

The publication also reports that “Miley hasn’t gotten over the disrespect she feels Billy Ray showed Tish and the family.”

“The family dynamics haven’t been the same since the divorce, and now that Tish and Billy Ray are with other people, there’s even more division among them all.”

The Cyrus’s seem to have a few problems, but then again what family doesn’t?
