Will Summer Love Island Go Ahead in 2020?

"They're determined not to let the virus stop the series going ahead."

Not long after the winter 2020 season of Love Island was over, ITV confirmed the show would be back this summer.

In early March they also announced that Bray native Laura Whitmore would be the host once again after successfully presenting the winter 2020 series.

However, the current Covid-19 pandemic most of our favourite shows have stopped filming and are re-scheduling for when everything calms down. Given that Love Island also involves travelling there are many obstacles in the way of the hit show.

But, according to The Sun, producers at ITV are ‘working around the clock’ to get the summer season on our screens.

So far there is no exact date for when the show is coming back, but it is usually in June, with it rumoured to now be pushed back until July.

As they are unable to hold face-to-face interviews with potential contestants apparently “Lots of the casting process is being done via video calls.”

With the summer series also always being filmed in Majorca, Spain which is currently under strict lockdown, it is unknown if they will wait for restrictions to relax or shoot in a different location this year but that “they’re determined not to let the virus stop the series going ahead.”

Tbh, we can’t think of anything we want more than Love Island back on our screens right now.
