You Need To See This Simple Sleep Hack That’s Gone Viral On TikTok

People who wear socks in bed make some noiiise

The age-old debate on whether you should wear socks to bed or not has finally been settled.

A sleep hack video is currently doing the rounds on social media, and for good reason. The video made by Doctor Jess Andrade discusses whether or not we should wear socks for a better night’s sleep, and as it turns out, we should.

Explaining why wearing socks in bed in beneficial and how it impacts your sleep positively, Doctor Jess said:

“So let’s talk about people that wear socks to bed

“Wearing socks makes the feet warm and this opens up the blood vessels that cools the body down. The body being cool tells the brain that it’s time for bed so actually, people that wear socks tend to fall asleep faster”

Other studies such as one published in Physical Behaviour scientific journal in 2006 back up Dr. Jess’s claims, saying that giving yourself a warm foot bath just before going asleep can help you to nod off quicker.

However, it seems Dr. Jess’s claims have divided people, with sock-wearers rejoicing the news that they’re not ‘weird’ and the rest of the world remaining staunch on their ‘no socks in the bedroom’ beliefs.

“You forgot to mention people that wear socks to bed tend to be serial killers” one person commented.

“I can’t breathe if I wear socks to bed” said another.

Whether you’re team socks in bed or not, the video is certainly doing the rounds either way, racking up an impressive 17 million+ views, and 2.4 million+ likes.

So, will you be wrapping up the tootsies before bed tonight?
