Everything We Know About Meghan Markle’s Wedding Dress And Makeup
The countdown is officially on.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding is less than two weeks away and with all this anticipation, we absolutely can’t wait to see how the bride-to-be will look on the day.
Although there has been no official photos of the royal wedding dress released, there’s been lots of speculation around what dress Meghan has chosen and the makeup look she’ll go for. We won’t know exactly what her dress will look like until she steps out on the 19th of May, but until then we’ve put together everything we know so far.
The Dress
It was reported by the Daily Mail that Meghan will wear a dress designed by British couturiers Ralph & Russo, who designed the gown Meghan wore in her engagement photos.
The tabloid reported that the dress will be hand-stitched, heavily beaded and cost £100,000, which will be paid for by the royal family. Royal expert and writer Omid Scobie reported yesterday via Twitter that Meghan’s wedding dress is finished and safely hidden at Windsor Castle. Per royal tradition, the queen herself will be the last person to see the dress as she will have final approval.
And ICYMI on @GMA:
Sources confirm that Meghan’s wedding dress is finished and safely hidden at Windsor Castle until the big day.
Just one person left to see it – the Queen. Meghan will privately show the gown to HM later this week (just like Kate did before she married William).— Omid Scobie (@scobie) May 9, 2018
The Daily Mail also reported that Prince Harry will be kept in the dark about the dress until he sees Meghan in it on May 19th.
According to Vanity Fair, Meghan will have two dresses for her big day, one for the ceremony and one for the evening. They said the plan is for her to change after the ceremony into something glamorous and less restrictive. It has also been reported that the wedding dress itself will be traditional and elegant. There is talk of some lace and sleeves and Meghan has been working very closely with the designer.
The Makeup
Meghan’s former makeup artist Lydia Sellers revealed to People Magazine what makeup look she thinks Meghan will go for on the day. She thinks Meghan will opt for a “classic, timeless look similar to what we have seen her wear lately” .
“Natural, dewy-looking skin, with her freckles peeking through, a sheer pink lip and a daytime smoky eye with beautiful volume in her lashes”.
Sellers says the most important factor for Meghan will be that looks like herself: “That was really important to Meghan, to always feel and look authentic and natural.”
All this inside info is getting us extremely excited for Saturday week!
