Make Like Cher Horowitz And Invest In A Slip Dress
Get ready to channel your inner Courtney Love: slip dresses are back, and we predict you're going to fall deep in like.
When people say the nineties are back, we always tend toward a little bit of an eyeroll. Sure, Hillary is winging her way towards the White House and lip colours have taken on a non-bubblegum hue, but if we’re being perfectly honest, there are some things best left to the original 90210 generation. Remember those platform runners your vice-principal had totally-correct-in-hindsight issues with? And can we talk about those twisting cubic zirconia hair clips that made us look like pound shop Christmas trees?
And yet, fashion these days can’t stop reverting to that decade. In some cases, we’re genuinely flabbergasted. Bucket hats belong on the Stone Roses, and basically, nowhere else. Unless you are Rihanna. Then you can do what you want, and that includes wearing Princess Diana tees. In other cases, we willing to let the nineties slide back into relevance. Take the slip dress: versatile, sexy, feminine, a touch transgressive – as a quick wardrobe addition it can only make you feel hella confident. Here, fashion editor Linda Conway picks her high street faves for you to shop, STAT.
