6 Healthy Brunches To Eat In Dublin This Weekend
It's our favourite meal of the week, and there's no way we're forgoing our weekend brunch in favour of sticking to a diet. So, not to miss out, we found some healthier brunch options instead.
1. San Lorenzos
San Lorenzos on Georges Street has an amazing brunch menu full of saintly treats, and a serious amount of yummy sins. With lots to choose from it’s not hard to stay on track with your healthy regime over the weekend. Our favourite healthy dish on the menu is a toss up between the crab cakes or the avocado on toast (we’re big avocado fans here at STELLAR). Both options have a mix of veggies and good fats which makes for a great way to start your day. To make the meal healthier go without the fries and rich sauces, and make all bread brown or wholemeal.
2. Bay
Bay in Clontarf is a picturesque brunch spot with loads to offer a healthy eater. You can choose the Healthy Option Breakfast which consists of poached eggs, bacon, tomato, baked beans, relish and fennel seed brown bread, and there’s a coeliac option available, too. Have this with a shot of wheatgrass or a veggie juice to kick start your system.
3. The Greenery
The Greenery in Donnybrook and Portobello has an extensive brunch menu and something for everyone. Their Porridge looks incredible if you want a breakfast, or if you’re more in the lunch mood there are yummy salads too. The porridge comes with manuka honey, blueberries, banana, toasted nuts and the oats are organic. Our fave salad has got to be the Warm Chicken Salad with avocado, sun blushed tomato, black olives, pine nuts, and parmesan.
4. 3fe
3fe’s Smokey Beans brunch option is something not to be missed. It includes pancetta smoked beans, poached eggs, guacamole, coriander creme fraiche, and cornbread. This is a meal high in healthy fats so do not fear, they will not hurt your diet. 3fe is located on Grand Canal Street Lower.
5. Bibi’s
Bibi’s in Dublin 8 have some light and heavier brunch options. Our go-to here is the Homemade Granola with apple compote and natural yoghurt. So yummy and filling because of the fibre, we definitely recommend this if you’re not interested in having eggs.
6. Herbstreet
The Eggs Florentine in Herbstreet at Grand canal Dock are to die for! It’s a classic brunch option, but you may need to modify the menu slightly to make it a bit healthier. Forgo the creamy hollandaise and add some smoked salmon so that you won’t be lacking flavour. Herb street also offer fruit and veggie juices to have alongside your meal. Or why not try a matcha latte for a natural caffeine hit? It’ll rev up your metabolism.
