Doireann Garrihy Addresses New Romance Rumours

Doireann Garrihy has addressed rumours concerning a potential new romance – and said she’s taking time to focus on herself this Christmas.

Speaking to Magazine+ alongside her DWTS co-host Jennifer Zamparelli, the radio host revealed that she has been focused on herself this year and is preparing for her exciting new television gig.

She said: “My romance really is Dancing with the Stars. This whole year I have just been focused on friends and enjoying myself and because of that I have struck a better balance of working hard but also enjoying myself.”

And focusing on herself means being content with what life brings, Doireann shared that she isn’t putting herself on a timeline for any milestones she may reach.

“I think my 30s inspired that. Naturally, I love being on my own and I wouldn’t have any qualms about going for lunch on my own or spending a whole Sunday alone. It is so much more normal and accepted to be single when you are 30 and to not panic. Luckily, I have never been someone who has been dead-set like, ‘If I am not engaged by 28 what will my life be?’ I have never been like that.

“I have never even envisioned a wedding — if it happens, it happens. I love being busy and I love work,” she said.

And she is definitely busy with work! Not only is she presenting her 2fm breakfast show alongside Carl Mullen and Donncha O’Callaghan, the trio also have an undercover prank show airing over Christmas as well as her new gig on DWTS. Plus she has her podcast and live shows of her podcast coming in 2023, to name a few projects!

Doireann is not the only one buzzing for her to get started on DWTS, her co-host Jennifer Zamparelli told VIP Magazine at the launch of Heineken 0.0’s Zero Explanations campaign this festive season, “She’s going to be great, we’re going to have a lot of fun…It’s going to be very different but it was very natural and you know the chemistry was there when we did our auditioned together I suppose our chemistry test.”

We cannot wait to see what these two are like on screen!
