Love Island’s Most Iconic Movie Night Moments
Pass the popcorn.
Over here at STELLAR we have all been waiting for the most iconic night of the Love Island season so far, although that Casa Amor recoupling was up there! Movie night is full of drama and always shakes up the villa!
“Movie Night” is taking place tonight, a week after Casa Amor, the dust of the recoupling has mostly settled and now the contestants will watch secret clips from inside the villa and Casa, causing some relationships to be tested yet again.
In honour of what’s to come, we took a look back at some of the most iconic movie night moments over the past few seasons, to jog our memories and get us excited for the night ahead, pass the popcorn.
Faye Winter and Teddy Soares
During season 7, one of the most dramatic scenes ever from Love Island aired. The boys and girls were shown a clip of Teddy saying he was ‘sexually attracted’ to Clarisse, one of the Casa Amor girls, something Teddy hadn’t told Faye he said. This led to her being very upset and shouting at him in an explosive argument which recieved over 25,000 complaints in just one night. This, although tough to watch at parts, especially as Faye has since said she handled the situation wrong, had to of been one of the most iconic showdowns.
Liberty Poole and Jake Cornish
We all fell in love with Liberty Poole when she took to our screens in 2021. She and Jake had been coupled up since the beginning of season 7 and were potentially on track to win the show. Feelings and lads’ holidays got in the way of this summer romance causing a public split on Love Island. Of course, Movie night was a big factor in their split.
The clip they saw showed Jake talking to the boys in the Villa about his physical attraction to Liberty, as he questioned if he was just attracted to her personality. This ultimately led Liberty to question their relationship inside the villa over the weeks. Despite “giving things another go” the couple eventually called it quits by the end of the season and left the villa on the last week.
Ekin-Su and Davide Sanclimenti
Last year’s winning couple brought the drama throughout the whole season, but movie night was a memorable one for them.
Ekin-Su had come back from Casa Amor to recouple with Davide reassuring him nothing had happened while sharing a bed with George Tasker in the other villa. During the movie night, Ekin-Su was shown bringing George for a chat and asking him not to share something with the boys, repeating that “nothing happened”. This brought Davide to call her a “liar”, in true Davide fashion. It wasn’t all Ekin-Su, Davide had also taken some risks by kissing some of the bombshells and making some comments which did not go down well with Ekin. The couple did end up working things out and went on to win the entire season! They are still together despite speculation of a false relationship. We can’t deny Ekin-Su and Davide gave us some of the best one-liners and moments from season eight.
Indiyah Polack and Dami Hope
Again, season 8 was one of the best seasons of Love Island. We can’t forget Dami Hope’s return to the villa with a new girl – Summer Botwe! This instantly caused drama, but Indiyah had also recoupled with a new boy! Viewers took to social media expressing they wanted a movie night to show Indiyah how wild Dami had been in Casa Amor! And they did, Indiyah saw Dami have a three-way kiss with two girls and told him, “Don’t worry because I will deal with you later”. The pair had their fair share of trouble inside the villa but found their way back to each other in the end, and are even still together now!
